Right before Spring Break, Shoshoni's first ever FBLA chapter headed down to Laramie to compete in the State Leadership Conference. We had nine students travel and eleven students compete across many events. There were 550+ students in attendance at this year's SLC, and our kids rocked it! They were recognized as the newest chapter in the state, and were commended for their hard work and large amount of activity in their first year. They're on track to be awarded a Champion Chapter award at the national conference this summer!
They had the opportunity to network with other students and business leaders around the state, tour the University of Wyoming College of Business and campus, and compete in over 70 offered events, hoping to place in the top four of their events and earn a trip to Anaheim, CA this summer for the National Leadership Conference. They also got to have lots of fun in the form of bowling, a statewide FBLA dance, swing dancing lessons, and more. All of our members worked extremely hard and represented Shoshoni with pride! We had some students who saw quite a bit of success this weekend as well. In fact, almost all of our chapter members placed in the top ten in the state in at least one event, and five of our students qualified for Nationals! Here is that breakdown:
Advertising - Corbin Brown, 6th Place
Broadcast Journalism - Memphis Dolcater & Alexis Bacon, 3rd Place
Business Ethics - Callie Miller, 7th Place
Business Law - Alex Brown, 6th Place
Business Plan - Cayden Harris, 8th Place
Digital Video Production - Corbin Brown, 7th Place
Financial Math - Alex Brown, 2nd Place
Help Desk - Alexis Bacon, 5th Place
Hospitality & Event Management - Emberly Clark, 6th Place
Insurance & Risk Management - Landon Kasper, 8th Place
International Business - Erik Mogensen, 4th Place
Personal Finance - Alex Brown, 9th Place
Sales Presentation - Corbin Brown, 1st Place
Securities & investments - Brenna Metzler, 9th Place & Landon Kasper, 7th Place
Social Media Strategies - Corbin Brown, 6th Place
Supply Chain Management - Brenna Metzler, 7th Place
Visual Design - Memphis Dolcater & Alexis Bacon - 5th Place
Take a look at this video for a peek at what they did and the hardware some of them got to take home. Make sure to congratulate all of these awesome kids when you see them!

This looks fun!

On March 13th and 14th, Shoshoni Schools brought in KayLeen McCabe to visit with all of our students (K-12) regarding opportunities in CTE careers. KayLeen is a renowned contractor, television personality, and dedicated advocate for the construction industry.
KayLeen spent time with our elementary students by reading books with them in their classrooms, met with our 7th-12th grade students in an assembly, and completed a "Tiny Tool Kit" project with our 4th grade students.
A huge shout-out to Cory Clemetson (High School Woodworking Teacher) and his high school woodworking students for spending time with KayLeen learning to teach the 4th graders how to complete their tool kits.

No Elementary Wrangler Round-Up on March 20th
